A Message from Principal Dishner

Dear Clifton Family,

It has been one of my greatest pleasures to be a part of this wonderful Clifton community for the past 23 years, the majority of which I’ve had the honor of serving as the principal. Over the years, we’ve seen numerous changes in programs and approaches, but at the core of our work, Clifton has remained a safe haven—a place that supports and challenges students as they transition from high school into adulthood.

Today, I am writing to share that I will be retiring from Austin ISD, effective December 20, 2024. Throughout my time in the district, beginning in 1986, I have had the privilege of working with exceptional students, dedicated families, and a remarkable group of colleagues from both Austin ISD and the larger Austin community. I’ve worked alongside 12 AISD Superintendents, served students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, and collaborated with countless principals, teachers, and other staff—each of whom has contributed to shaping the person I am today as I prepare to step into this next chapter of my life.

As I transition, I am confident that Clifton is in excellent hands with Sachi Edson stepping into the role of Principal. While I will no longer be physically present each day to greet students as they enter the building, please know that the relationships we've built over the years will always remain a part of me, and I will carry a piece of Clifton with me in my heart.

I ask that you continue to support and encourage our students and staff, and extend the same positive energy to new leadership at Clifton as you have so generously done for the past two decades.

With heartfelt gratitude and the utmost respect,

Tony Dishner
Principal
