Friday Luncheons

On several Fridays each month, our Clifton Culinary Arts and Hospitality programs host a luncheon from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm with both dine-in and to-go options for $9 per meal.  Students in Culinary Arts prepare and serve the main meal.  Students in Hospitality decorate our Clifton Cafe, prepare desserts and drinks, check in guests, accept payment, and bus tables for dine-in service.

The menu is sent out in advance via e-mail, our website calendar, and social media with RSVPs due by Tuesday at 3:00pm the week of the luncheon.  This allows time for our students and staff to shop for ingredients.

Plant Sales

Clifton Plant Science hosts two annual sales.  Our Poinsettia Sale takes place in late November/early December and occurs mainly through pre-orders with pick-up during school hours.  Our Spring Plant Sale typically takes place on a Saturday in March with on-site shopping in our greenhouse parking lot.  All plants are grown by our Clifton students and staff from seeds, plugs, or cuttings.

In addition, Plant Science occasionally hosts pop-up sales (depending on availability in our greenhouse).  These will take place on luncheon days (see above).  Information about all sales will be added to our website calendar and advertised via social media.

For questions about plant sales, please contact genna.shaia@austinisd.org

Clifton Tours

Clifton is happy to showcase the work of our students and programs to members of the educational community (both within and outside of Austin ISD) and prospective business partners.

To schedule a tour, please call our Clifton Main Line at (512) 414-3614 or email sachi.edson@austinisd.org

Prospective students and families should communicate with their guidance counselor, grade-level administrator, or other school staff about their interest in Clifton.  Students and families are also welcome to contact our campus directly to schedule a tour, however, we try to schedule group tours through schools before individual student/family tours.

Other Events & Services

Catering

Depending on classroom instruction, internship, and other commitments, our Clifton Culinary Arts and Hospitality programs have some limited capacity for catering.

For questions about catering full meals, please contact tatiana.antonio@austinisd.org (Note: this is more feasible if the catering request aligns with our planned luncheon menu for that week)

For questions about light snacks and/or desserts, please contact both tatiana.antonio@austinisd.org AND victoria.neeranjan@austinisd.org

Centerpieces & Event Decor

Based on availability in the Clifton greenhouse, our Plant Science program can sometimes provide centerpieces for events and meetings.  In addition, our Hospitality program is sometimes available for event decoration and setup (e.g., linens, additional table decoration, etc.).

For questions about living centerpieces, please contact genna.shaia@austinisd.org

For questions about general event setup & decor, please contact victoria.neeranjan@austinisd.org

Metal & Wood Projects

Second and third-year students in our Applied Agricultural Engineering (Welding) are able to create some metal and wood projects on commission.  These include, but are not limited to, fire pits, smokers and barbecues, desks and tables, charcuterie boards, horseshoe figures, etc.

To inquire about a project, please contact russell.duncum@austinisd.org (Note: please keep in mind that the cost for raw materials has increased significantly in the past few years)
